Maintenance of fuel transfer pump

Fuel Transfer Pump is an important component of generator set, in order to ensure generator set long-term durability, user must know operating rules and characteristics of fuel pump clearly.
1. Before fuel transfer pump is installed, please check if the model and specifications are correct and clear anti-rust oil, gasket thickness should be appropriate. In order to avoid the piston is blocked or running in insufficient place, and we must pay attention to the pads too thin or too thick, tightening torque should be uniform to prevent damaging pump when tightening bolts.
2. If there is a rubber seal between the piston and body of Hand oil pump, and it is not allowed arbitrarily dismantled, and change rubber ring in time when damage was found.
3. Crude filter cores within the transfer pump joint are vulnerable to be congested due to cotton and other dirties, it should be regular to check and clean, the filter must promptly be repaired or replaced when damaged.
4. Ensure that transfer pump gaskets are intact; it avoids removing plastic ring frequently, and should be changed regularly.
5. Ensure that flexibility of four springs of the plunger-type transfer pump is normal. “Four spring” as the piston springs, tappet (wheel) spring, inlet valve spring, a valve spring, when spring flexibility is weakened or broken ,it is timely to replace or add gasket to adjust in order to avoid generator set damage.
6. Hand pump must be returned after use, meanwhile the button must be tightened to prevent the hand pump and gasket, or ball valve and valve seat pressing loosely, which will lead to gas intake or oil leakage.
7. When the generator set has not run for long time. Measures to rust-proof must be taken, because the piston and the pump, tappet and tappet suite contain water and oil which will cause rust.
8. Oil must get through filtering, sedimentation and clean, and prevent abrasion of inlet valve, outlet valve, valve seat due to excessive impurities, and sometimes even valve will lose function due to impurities.
9. If finding plenty of oil in oil pan of fuel pump. Must check if the clearance between the pump piston and body, tappet and the tappet set is too large or not, it must be dealt with in time if it is too large, and prevent pump and governor in poor lubrication due to serious oil leakage.
10. Some fuel transfer pumps have vent holes, the hole’s role is to make fuel pump leak a small amount of oil directly outside the pump. Hole may not be blocked to prevent dilution of lubricating oil.
